Home > England > East Sussex > Eastbourne > Birling Gap

Birling Gap is a coastal hamlet within the parish of East Dean and Friston. It is situated on the Seven Sisters near to Beachy Head. Coastal erosion is working its way through a row of fishing cottages built in 1878. There is parking, and a hotel with a tea room. It should be noted that access to the beach is via a metal staircase. The beach itself consists of large pebbles with stunning views of the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs.
