About Sandwich

Sandwich is an historic town in East Kent. Formerly one of the Cinque Ports and one of the most important coastal port towns in England. However, the port silted up around the 15th Century and the town of Sandwich is now around two miles from the sea.

 

About Kent

Sandwich is located in the county of Kent. Kent is known as the 'Garden of England', but also boasts many miles of coastline stretching round from the Thames estuary to East Sussex. The coast line includes the famous white cliffs of Dover.
