The Somerset coastline offers traditional seaside resorts, picturesque towns and harbours, coastal walks, quaint seaside villages, coves, sandy beaches, marinas and stunning coastline with views across the sea and Bristol Channel.

There are beautiful coastal routes to walk including the 630 mile South West Coast Path (which starts in Minehead before going around Devon, Cornwall and Dorset), sites of Special Scientific Interest such as Kilve Beach, nature reserves such as Bridgwater Bay and Uphill, and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Minehead, Burnham-on-Sea, Berrow, and Brean Sands offer traditional seaside attractions and amusements, with promenades and large sandy beaches. Minehead also has a picturesque harbour, and is ideally located for access to the Exmoor countyside. Further up the coast is Weston-super-Mare with it's Grand Pier, long sandy beaches, amusements, fish and chip restaurants, clubs, and bars. There are parks offering bandstand concerts throughout the summer season. The small town of Clevedon offers pleasure steamer trips from it's pier.

Pretty towns and villages in Somerset include Porlock, and the old port of Watchet (where Coleridge wrote 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner') which offers a mix of old narrow streets, and ancient buildings and gift shops.
